Feed URL Import advanced settings

Advanced settings

There are several ways to import your feed from a URL. You can see the optional settings for each import in Data Sources, from the Advanced Settings tab. Here are the optional import settings:

  • Don't notify if data didn't change

  • Website Crawler: Do not remove javascript from body

  • Pause Data Source

  • Force Active FTP mode

  • Allow this datasource to have no products

Activate your desired import option by selecting the tick box.

The Don't notify if data didn't change option stops notifications after every import if you are using the monitoring option, Number of Imports without a change in Data Sources.

Tip

Some files containing additional data do not change, so this notification is not necessary.

Once you activate this option, you no longer receive notifications for this source only, as indicated by the crossed-out bell icon.

2 - Website Crawler: Do not remove javascript from body

This option can only be used when using the Website Crawler as a Data Source. Per default we ignore javascript when scraping a site, so you can enable this option if you want to keep it.

3 - Pause Data Source

In case you want to pause a Data Source instead of removing it, activate this option. This will be especially helpful when you are trying to find an error in the imported data and you suspect it is caused by one of the Data Sources.

You can pause and activate a Data Source by clicking the buttons in the State section of the Data Sourceoverview.

TITLE

1.1 - Repair control characters

Use this option, if your XML file contains control characters. Control characters are not visible in the feed, but will be a problem for the XML import.

1.2 - Repair parent node

Use this option, if your XML file contains no parent node. This will set a parent node to import your products properly.

1.3 - Allow empty node

Use this option, if your XML contains nodes that are only occasionally populated. This will prevent them from disappearing and re-apperaring in your Dataflow and thus triggering error messages.
