Export to Export to Data Source (legacy document)

Under certain circumstances you may want to combine multiple feeds that are separate exports from sites within your account to a unified Data Source. For this solution we've built the Export and Data Source "Export to Data Source".

Example: You run a marketplace and have hundreds of sites exporting your single Google feeds to the designated Google Merchant Centers. Now you want a site that combines all of these single feeds into one 'master' feed that you can then use to send to price comparison channels, Facebook or other internal exports. Instead of manually creating an export in each site, exporting it to the Productsup Server and then adding it as a feed Data Source in the accumulated site, you export them into a "bucket" that you can then use as a single import source.

Setup for Export and Import

Export into a Bucket

Choose "Export to Data Source" as a destination in the export setup of the single merchant sites and add a name for the bucket.

By clicking on the destination's "Setup" you can define the bucket you want to import into. Exports with the same setting here will be exported in the same bucket. When clicking the Bucket field, a list of existing buckets shows up, and you can either choose an existing one or enter a new bucket name.

Keep in mind that all feeds exported into the same bucket need to have exactly the same structure to make this feature work as expected.

If you want to export skipped products into the bucket, activate "Allow skipped rows". This comes in handy, if you want to be able to whitelist them in another site that imports the bucket.

Columns created by an import service like Group Attributes will be exported into the bucket, so you can use them in other sites as well, without having to apply the service again. If you don't want them to be exported into the bucket, activate "Remove Passthru Columns".

Click "Save" and export the feed.

Export to Data Source is a destination and not a file format. As a result, no file settings will be able to be set. This includes (but is not limited to): - File name - Product limit - Sorting actions - Product count

Import from a Bucket

Add a new Data Source in the site you want to import the created bucket and select "Export to Data Source" as the type.

You can find all available buckets from within your account in the drop-down list. Choose the one you want to import into the site.

Contact if you want to use this feature. Since it's an advanced tool, you may need assistance with the initial setup.
