16. Split String for PLA

This box is used to extract one or more parts from a specific category path, even though the rule can be applied to any column in your feed. It works in a similar way to the Split String box explainded here, yet if no splitter is found, the value will be deleted.

The extraction is achieved by splitting the text using a delimiter. You can use it if you only need one part of a value or just the beginning/end.

17. Translate Google Category

If you already have the Google Taxonomy in one column of your feed you can now - automatically translate it into another language referring to the Google Merchant Center taxonomy OR - replace the the text with Google's ID number system(which is the same for all languages).

Example:

The google_product_category in your feed contains the English taxonomy and you want to export the taxonomy in German.

Step 1: In Data Edit add the box Translate Google Category.

Step 2: Select the relevant (existing) Source Format (en-US for US Taxonomy)

Step 3: Select the (desired) Target Format (de-DE for German)

The output will be the German taxonomy:

Please note: If the source language is the same as the target (for example en-US to en-US) the taxonomy will obviously remain the same but the box will filter all invalid categories. So you can use the Translate Google Category box to remove all the invalid categories from your feed.

However, Productsup recommends fixing invalid categories (using our List feature, for example) instead of removing them.
