Schedule your sites to process automatically

Schedule your sites to process runs automatically at specific intervals each day in Productsup.

You can set up Scheduling so your site runs at specific intervals each day automatically.

Note

Scheduling always triggers a full run. A full run includes all processing aspects, from importing your data source to exporting your feeds. A site can never have two simultaneous runs. If you schedule a site to run or set a Trigger while a current process is running, the new run request goes into the queue. Once a run completes, the next one can begin.

Tip

Make sure you leave enough time between your scheduled runs for the site to process. Otherwise, the platform adds runs to the queue.

Add Scheduling

You can add as many different schedules as desired, but only for all imports and exports within a site. Additionally, you can't set up individual schedules for other data sources or exports within the same site.

You can use multiple schedules to create more complex scheduling, such as having a site process twice an hour during different times.

To set up Scheduling for a site:

  1. Go to Data Sources from your site's main menu and select the Scheduling tab.

  2. Select Add Schedule.

  3. Select the days, hours, and minutes you want to schedule a run start. Choose from:

    1. Everyday

    2. Every 2nd Day

    3. Every Hour

  4. Select Save.

Trigger a run based on the action of another site

You can also set a site(s) to run based on another site's action that triggers your site. Setting Triggers can be helpful if you want to send data from one Productsup site to another. Once the triggering or activating site completes a defined action, the following site(s) begins processing a run.

  1. Go to Data Sources from your site's main menu and select the Trigger tab.

  2. Select Add Site. In Trigger Site, choose the event from After event that should trigger your current site to run.

    Note

You can add multiple trigger sites in the Trigger area. Only one site, not all, must complete its run under the TRIGGERED BY SITES function to trigger the following sites.

  3. Select Save.

When you review the Trigger tab, you can see if you have an active Trigger or if your site triggers another site to run.

Remove a Trigger

To remove a Trigger:

  1. Go to Data Sources from your site's main menu and select the Trigger tab.

  2. Select Remove Trigger.
