Detect colors from image link with the Image Color Detection service in Productsup.
If your products are lacking accurate product color descriptions you can use the Image Color Detection service. It lets you analyze your image links and extract the top three displayed colors.
Note
Make sure you have set a product identifier to use this service.
This service will provide you both the hex code of the color alongside the name:

Add the Image Color Detection service
In order to add the Image Color Detection service, you should:
Navigate to your site
Navigate to Data Services on the left-hand tab
Click add service
Add the Image Color Detection (BETA) service
Give the service a name (if desired)
Define a custom column prefix (if desired)
Select whether to use the service on the import or intermediate level
the level refers to where your image links are found
Click add
Select the image column where your image links are found
If you wish to exclude the background of your image from the analysis, you can enable Remove Background
Select Save
Upon the successful setting up of the Image Color Detection service, new columns (based on the prefix you defined) will be created.

Tip
The Image Color Detection service could take longer to process than a normal run of your site. For this reason, it is advised to not use it on a production site directly. Instead, you can run it in a second site and export the results as an additional feed into your live site.
Edit an existing Image Color Detection service
In order to edit settings for your Image Color Detection service, you should:
Navigate to your site
Navigate to Data Services on the left-hand tab
Click on the settings wheel
Delete an existing Image Color Detection service
Navigate to your site
Navigate to Data Services on the left-hand tab
Click on the settings wheel
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click remove this service
