September 2022 release notes

Check out the Productsup platform updates in September 2022.

We're constantly working to offer you the best Productsup experience. See the updates we released to the platform in September 2022.

Platform release

Prepend text to column names per data source

In addition to replacing the data source header row with custom column names, you can add text to the beginning or prepend text to all data source column names. This new feature helps you sort or filter attributes that specific data sources create.

If you have many attributes and multiple import files, prepending text lets you recognize from where you are importing data, giving you more control over your product feed.

Allow Columns option in Data Sources settings

Previously, you could only block columns from the Data Sources settings page. Blocking columns excludes columns you don't want to import.

This new release now gives you the option to allow columns as well. Allowing columns lets you only list the columns you want to import while the platform blocks the rest.

Tip

You can also use a regex to locate text. For example, if you select Allow Columns, entering the following regex /^part/ admits all column names that begin with part.

See Content Options - Add/Filter columns.

Improved user management for multi-account users

Productsup has improved user management for customers or agencies who manage multiple accounts in the platform.

Previously, for example, if a customer who was an admin in Account A and a user in Account B wanted to invite users to Account A, they would be unable to see the relevant admin options. You can now see admin options for such scenarios.

Content Portal email localization

In Content Portal, users who selected French or German on the home screen now receive emails in their preferred language.

Account owners or admins can also set the default language for accounts, ensuring the portal sends invitation emails in the selected language. Users can always change their preferences.

Content Portal will support more languages in the app and emails in the upcoming months.

Marketplaces release

Optimized authentication support from the Marketplaces solution to Amazon

As part of our continuous Marketplaces app improvements, we upgraded the authentication mechanism to Amazon Seller Central (ASC).

Before the authentication enhancements, users could only add a new marketplace. However, if authentication became invalid or someone removed an associated user from the ASC, the Marketplaces app didn't notify you or offer support for performing authentication edits.

With the latest improvements, the Marketplaces app promptly informs users about errors associated with authentication, which may block a new listings creation and existing listings submission updates to Amazon. Furthermore, users can make authentication edits to resume the listings processing.

Revert LDP attribute edits to imported attribute values

On the Marketplaces app's Listing Details Page (LDP), you can edit attributes for your selected products, provide missing attribute values, or update and override existing values. You can also modify and improve the data in the Productsup Platform's data flow by adding rule boxes or making changes directly to the data pool source.

With the latest improvement, we added UI visualization that informs you if attributes on the LDP received edits and if another attribute value is available in the Productsup Platform's data feed. You can select the Revert to this value button to reverse the modifications you made to the attribute values and use the original, imported values if needed.

API release

Stream API is now out of the beta stage

Stream API offers an exponential increase in data import speed for large catalogs. Stream API had its beta release in Q3 2021 and since has performed well, so we decided to remove the beta tag from Stream API.

Stream API is now our primary Content API. Platform API serves as our main account management API. Platform API covers the features such as creating projects, getting information about import history, removing sites, or updating them.

In contrast, you can now use Stream API to upload products to our platform. For now, we will maintain the content upload endpoints of the Platform API for existing users.

We've moved the Stream API feature to Data Sources in the platform. You can find it under the Miscellaneous filter.

CEPH-API migration for Platform API users

We divided platform API users into four buckets:

  • Internal accounts bucket

  • Small bucket - accounts having up to three sites

  • Medium bucket - accounts having more than three sites

  • Large bucket

We have migrated all internal accounts, small and medium buckets, so far. Once we complete the Platform API migration, we will continue with Stream API users.

Integrations release

Syndigo Integration - product export via API

Syndigo_Logo.jpg

Syndigo is a product content syndication solution popular in the US, with hundreds of integrations with US retailers for both core and enhanced content.

Our new integration lets you export product content to Syndigo via API. The integration is beneficial if you have both Productsup and Syndigo contracts and solutions to export directly to Syndigo from Productsup.

See https://syndigo.com.

If you're interested in this integration or want more information, contact support@productsup.com.

IGNM / ARGE DQR 8.0 export channel templates

Version 8.0 of the DQR (Datenqualitätsrichtlinie) product data standard came out on April 1, 2022, and replaced version 7.0 on October 1, 2022. The construction industry in Central Europe mainly uses the DQR standard for HVAC systems.

We have added support for DQR 8.0 with two national product databases, ARGE in Germany and IG Neue Medien (IGNM) in Austria, which you can use with the IGNM / ARGE DQR export channel templates. As part of supporting DQR 8.0 for ARGE and IGNM, we added multiple flat channels now available in the platform.
