Translate your feed with the Google Translate service in Productsup.

You need a Cloud Translation API Key to use this service. Google charges for this service so make sure to double-check all relevant pricing details beforehand.

Make sure you have set a product identifier to use this service.

You can translate product information such as titles or descriptions using the Google Translate service. This is particularly helpful in case your catalog is used in different countries and the individual languages are not available in the import file. It could also be useful if you want to quickly translate product information for trying out a new market.

Once you have set this up, new columns which include your information (the names are based on your prefix) will be created in the Platform.

Add the Google Translate service

In order to add the Google Translate service, you should:

  1. Navigate to your site

  2. Navigate to Data Services on the left-hand tab

  3. Click add service

  4. Add the Google Translate service

  5. Give the service a name (if desired)

  6. Define a custom column prefix (if desired)

  7. Select whether to use the service on the import or intermediate level

    • the level refers to where your information to be translated is found

  8. Click add

  9. Select the column which should be translated

  10. Input the source language of this column

  11. Then, select at least one language to translate into (hold CTRL to select more than one language)

  12. Enter your Cloud Translation API Key

  13. Select only trigger during scheduling if you want to not trigger the service during a refresh of the Data View

  14. Click save

Edit an existing Google Translate service

In order to edit settings for your Google Translate service, you should:

  1. Navigate to your site

  2. Navigate to Data Services on the left-hand tab

  3. Click on the settings wheel

Delete an existing Google Translate service

In order to delete your Google Translate service, you should:

  1. Navigate to your site

  2. Navigate to Data Services on the left-hand tab

  3. Click on the settings wheel

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click remove this service
