Visualize your data in Data View

Visualize your product feed data in Data View in Productsup.

The Data View is the section of the platform which you can use to visualize your product data. This can help you to check how your feeds look before exporting them, or to judge the state of your data from the import or on the intermediate.

For learning how to analyze your data in the Data View, see Analyze your data in Data View

If you wish to map your data, see Map your product data.

Access the Data View

  1. Go Data View from the site's main menu.

Your products are now visible.

You can customize how many products are shown per page and you can navigate through the pages in the top ribbon:

As a standard, the Data View shows you up to 1000 random products for each stage. This is called the live preview. If you make any changes to your data through new mapping or rule boxes, then these will be shown automatically.

The full view shows you all products for each stage. Any changes you make will not be done automatically. To see your changes, you will need to trigger a manual refresh by clicking the refresh button next to the live preview button. Alternatively, your site will process changes through scheduling or a manual trigger of import/export.

In summary:

Live preview: This shows you up to 1000 products per stage. Processing of data happens automatically.

Full view: This shows you all products per stage. You need to trigger a process of the data to update it.

Selecting live preview or full view

You can toggle between the live preview and the full view:

  1. Go to Data View from the site's main menu.

  2. In the top ribbon, select Live Preview or Full View

    • the currently activated view is highlighted

You can force an update of the Data View with a refresh:

  1. Go to Data View from the site's main menu.

You can download products from the Data View into a CSV file.

This could be useful if you need to quickly check a certain section of products and do not want to download an entire export feed.

  1. Go to Data View from the site's main menu.

  2. In the top ribbon, expand the Download drop-down menu

  3. Click on the number of products you wish to download

  4. A CSV file will be downloaded to your computer

If you want to view certain subsections of your products, you can do so using filtering. You may wish to display only certain categories of products, or you want to see only products which are not exported (skipped) (link).

When adding a filter, the number of products matching this filter is shown in the top ribbon.

  1. Go to Data View from the site's main menu.

  2. In the toolbar on the right-hand side, select the filter icon

  3. Under the product quick filter section, select and choose whether you want to view all, exported, or skipped products

Product characteristics

If you want to search your products for a customizable condition, you can do so by using the add filter functionality. Here you can select a column, add a condition, and have only products meeting that condition shown in the Data View.

Adding multiple filter conditions works with an AND logic, meaning that only products fulfilling all conditions will be shown.

If you save your filters as segments and select multiple segments, then these conditions work on an OR logic, meaning products fulfilling the conditions of any segment are shown.

  7. Select Add

  8. The Data View will only show products matching your filter

    • you can see that a filter is active under the current filter section in the toolbar and in the top ribbon through the green filter button
