OpenAI SFTP
Deliver high-scale product catalogs directly to OpenAI via SFTP.
Overview
OpenAI Product Feed enables customers to make products discoverable inside ChatGPT.
In past, OpenAI supported an API upload method. OpenAI has now transitioned to an SFTP-based approach. This is expected to be the standard supported method, and offers increased performance when moving large-scale catalogs.
OpenAI previously supported a legacy API method. This approach is being deprecated soon by OpenAI. Clients should migrate existing and configure new setups via the SFTP standard.
Prerequisites in OpenAI
- Clients must register with OpenAI to obtain SFTP credentials.
Steps in Productsup
- Add the OpenAI export.
- Add the 'SFTP/FTP/FTPS Server' destination. Configure the following fields in the destination:
- Protocol: SFTP
- Host: determined by your OpenAI SFTP
- Port: determined by your OpenAI SFTP — defaults to 22 in most cases.
- Username: determined by your OpenAI SFTP
- Password: determined by your OpenAI SFTP
The default filetype extension is .csv — OpenAI will accept uncompressed .csv so long as you reach out to your rep for pre-approval. We suggest this method.
