Set up the Content Portal Catalog export

Set up the Content Portal Catalog export in Productsup.

If you use Content Portal, you can use Content Portal Catalog export to send data to your catalogs.

Important

You can also use the Content Portal Catalog destination using other exports. The advantage of the Content Portal Catalog export it already has the required attributes in Dataflow ready for mapping.

Set up the Content Portal Catalog export

When you add the Content Portal Catalog export, mandatory attributes are auto-mapped.

Note

If you use a different export with Content Portal Catalog destination, ensure that you map all mandatory attributes to the export. You can see the required information in the Content Portal Catalog setup.

  1. Go to Exports from your site's main menu and select Add export.

  2. Search for Content Portal Catalog, hover over it, and select Add.

  3. On the Exports page, select the name of the added export to set it up.

  4. Select Add Destination and choose Content Portal Catalog from the dropdown. Give it a name as desired, and select Save.

  5. Select the attribute that contains unique values in the ID dropdown.

  6. Go to your catalog's settings in Content Portal and copy the CATALOG ID. The catalog identifier is a universally unique identifier (UUID).

  7. Paste the copied catalog ID in Catalog Identifier adding a prefix uuid:, such as uuid:af22423c-8f0e-11e8-981a-1c36bbed83ab.

  8. Select the respective attributes from the following dropdowns.

  9. Add a Template file with the names of the items and data sheets within that file. The template file should be .xlsx format. See Add Excel Export to learn hwo to prepare such a file.

  10. Toggle Active to On to activate the destination.

  11. Select Save.

  12. Go to Dataflow from your site's main menu and select Content Portal Catalog in the dropdown on the left.

  13. Map all relevant attributes from import to export.

  14. Select Run or Export in the top-right corner of your view.
