Data View - New Version

With our October 2017 release the new version of our Data View was available as a Beta version. Since April 2018 it is the standard version and since July 2018 it is the only available option combining the features of Data View and Data Edit.

Main differences to the legacy version

The Data View is no longer be a solely informative feature, where you can filter and have a closer look at your data, but you will also execute your data optimizations there - this was only possible in Data Edit before. You can add boxes in the same way it is possible in the Dataflow: Through a sidebar that will open up on the right side of the screen.

Change the stage you want to work on by clicking the dropdown arrow and selecting either Import, Intermediate or one of your channels.

Live Preview shows you the first 1000 products of your Intermediate and channels so you can see the impact of changes right away. If you want to update it manually, click Refresh.

Last Run shows you all product that are part of your feed and the state they had during the last run - this can either be a refresh of the full amount of products or the last export. If you want to update it manually, click Refresh.

Download will download the current view of products as a CSV. You can define the number of products you want to export in the preview file by clicking the button.

Current Users

The icon in the top right corner indicates if other users are working in the site. When hovering over the icons, the names of the other active user will be shown.

This feature makes you are aware that other users are working on the same data as you and you have the chance to prevent your changes being overwritten.

Toolbar

The sidebar on the right contains multiple tools for filtering, analyzing, visualization and editing of your data. You can open it by clicking the small icon on the top right.

Filter

The Product Quickfilteroffers preconfigured views for allproducts, exported products and skipped products.

If you want to look at products with a certain characteristic, you can use the Add Filterfunctionality. It gives you the columns of the current stage in the top dropdown, a variation of different operators and a text field for search terms. By clicking the symbol next to the search term field, you will see all values that are present in the selected column. You can add multiple conditions by adding more filters, they will be creating an and-condition - only products meeting the conditions of all filters will be shown.

If you want to save the filter as a Segment, you need to enter a segment name and click "Save Segment". They can then act as preconfigured filters or be used when applying rule boxes to the products within the segment only.

All segments on the current stage can be see under Available Segments.

To filter with an or-condition, you can create different segments for the single conditions and then filter using the segments. All products that are meeting the requirements of segment A or segment B or segment C will then be shown.

Analyze

The analyze functionality gives you a breakdown of how well your different attributes are meeting the requirements of the export channel. By clicking on the name of the column you get an overview of the different tests that the contents run through. Clicking on the pie chart will filter for the affected products in the left section of the Data View.

Single columns can be analyzed by clicking the Analyze button underneath the column header.

You can download the Analysis in CSV form by clicking Download Analysis.

In case you don't want to apply the analysis on products that are skipped on Intermediate or Export level, activate the checkbox for Ignore skipped products in analysis:

Views

You can customize which columns you want to see in the left part of the Data View by activating the eye symbol - green meaning it will be shown, grey meaning it will be hidden. The dropdown on top has preconfigured views for displaying all columns, none and the default setting (showing all template columns, but hiding the ones starting with three underscores). You can save the current settings by clicking Save as new view in the dropdown and adjust already created custom views by clicking Save changes.

You can display all columns with tracking information relevant for the channel you are working in by choosing Toggle Traffic Columns from the dropdown.

The order of columns in the Data View can be adjusted by drag-and-drop. Grab the column by holding the symbol on the right and drop it in the desired position. This will not affect the position in the export file, but only adjust the visualization in the Data View. If you want to adjust the order of columns in the actual file, follow the instructions in Add export channel.

You can activate the Before/After View by activating the checkbox above the filter field. This feature will only work if you selected an ID Column in Data Sources. If activated a column with a before version of your data will be shown when applying or removing new boxes to your feed:

You can add rule boxes by clicking the name of the column you want to optimize and choosing the desired box from the dropdown. It opens in the slim view per default, but you can switch to Large View by clicking the button next to the Save icon. These views are the same ones as in Dataflow.

After adding a box, click Save and the Preview on the left side will refresh automatically. Once you edit an Intermediate column the Savebutton will show a warning if the attribute is used in any of your export channels:

To open the Edit feature for a certain column directly, you can either click the Edit button underneath the column name, click the plus icon in one of the cells in the column or right-click inside a column with your mouse. This will open a window with all our rule boxes grouped by category as well as the toolbar on the right.
